Talking and Tequila || Finntana

bigdaddy-finn:

Finn wasn’t sure what had come over him earlier, he had just suddenly had a rush of emotion when he started talking about being a single parent. Yes, it was super hard raising a teenage son for the past seven years on his own without Layla and he knew that on some days, Kevin was a wreck just because he didn’t get to see his mom, but he found ways to deal with it. Santana seemed genuinely concerned about how Finn felt and that really meant a lot to him, so getting together with her tonight was something he was looking forward to. He knew that Santana had changed over the years, she seemed a lot softer and a lot sweeter, but Finn had changed a lot as well. They were both adults now, both single parents, but they had history together. They were best friends, she was Finn’s first time and so there was always that sort of connection.

Finn took a deep breath as he slowly shut the laptop, running his fingers through his hair and stood up from his desk in his office. He couldn’t wait for Santana to get there, just so he could see her and talk to her. He licked his lips, smoothing out his dark jeans and his old band t-shirt and ran his fingers over the scruff on his beard. He needed to remind himself to shave later. He heard the car pulling up out front and for some reason, his stomach did little flips because he was seeing Santana for the first time in a while. He quickly made his way to the front door, pulling it open before she even knocked and picked her up in a tight hug, spinning her around, “San!” He yelled happily, kissing her cheek as he sat her down and ushered her inside.

You could say the last two or three weeks have been pretty much the worst, her brother’s death, trying to be there for Veronica, the drama with Daniella and then she felt like a horrible friend because she didn’t know how to be there for Brittany and Sam with this whole pregnancy drama. She just really had no idea how to deal with everything, after all if there was one thing that didn’t change over the years if was her being the worst in dealing, let alone showing feelings.
Santana had no idea why she messaged Finn in first place, he just seemed upset and she could only imagine how the whole Kevin situation would be for him, especially now that he had to deal with it on his own. From what she could tell he still was getting used to being a single parent, she’d like to say that she could relate - but in all honesty she couldn’t. It was something different when you were a single parent from the start, but still she felt like she had to be there for him, they were friends after all.

After getting a bottle of tequila, as promised, she took a quick look in the mirror making sure she didn’t look like a total mess and left her children a note saying that she was out. It didn’t take her long to get to Finn’s place and actually was just about to knock when he opened the door. Arching an eyebrow she looked up at him, obviously confused about this welcoming. “Woah, did you start the drinking without me, Finnocence?”, she shook her head slightly giving him a small smile. The smile quickly turned into a smirk when she was holding up the bottle. “Or were you just happy because I brought this little friend?”

bigdaddy-finn:

works for me. Want me to bring anything? Food? Tequila?

I think tequila sounds great right about now.

Got it.
